Located in Lakeview, Bull Shoals-White River State Park is famous for its world-class trout fishing. However, that’s just a portion of what the park has to offer.
It also boasts some great trails, including the Gaston Wildflower Garden Trail.
North Central Arkansas Master Naturalists (NCAMN) maintains the trail by planting, seeding, and nurturing the flora that lines it and fills the surrounding area.
Brimming with lovely views and vibrant hues, the garden loop trail meanders through 3 acres of wildflowers.
And since the wildflowers change often throughout the seasons, the sights are constantly transforming, so each visit is like a new adventure.
In addition to wildflowers, wildlife, such as birds and butterflies, is a common sight and often spotted at the feeders strategically placed throughout the length of the trail.
There are some informative markers too.
At just ¾ mile, the trail takes about an hour to complete. Of course, that doesn’t account for the time you take to admire the wildflowers, wildlife, and signage found along the trail.

Keep in mind, the garden is a constant work-in-progress and relies on donations. If interested in donating, visit the NCAMN Facebook page.

So, did you know about this wildflower trail? Ever trekked along its path? If so, what’d you think? Tell us!

So, are you ready to stop and smell the…wildflowers? We thought so! For more info, check out the Bull Shoals-White River State Park website.

This isn’t the only must-visit for flower fiends. There’s also this tulip farm with over 100,000 colorful flowers.
