The Garland County Audubon Society will hear a presentation on lead poisoning in scavenging avians during its next meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3819 Central Ave.

The meeting is open to the public.

The program will be presented by Jennifer Kay, a graduate master's student and biologist.

She is a member of the Diamond Lakes Arkansas Master Naturalist and Garland County Audubon Society.

"She is presenting her research on the comparison of the effects from lead poisoning across three policy settings in golden eagles and turkey vultures, as well as talking in general about the repercussions of using lead ammunition in scavenging avians," a news release said.
