Rogers Butterfly Park:

Bed Adoption

Do you have a love of butterflies and flowers?
Of COURSE you do, you are a Master Naturalist!!

Phyllis Stair is looking for volunteers to adopt the beds at the Rogers Butterfly Park.  She has provided the following guidelines for adopting a bed:

1. You will be in charge of weeding.

2. You will be in charge of watering – hopefully this will only be to establish a newly planted item, or during droughts since these are hardy native plants.

3. Replacing dead plants when needed. (This does not mean you will have to buy the plant, all this means that you will have to plant a new one.  This also means that if you would like to plant a different kind of plant you can, however it must be the same height as the plant you have replaced.)

4. Educate yourself and others about the plants in your bed and the host (butterfly) to that plant.

5. ENJOY being kissed by butterflies!

Phyllis is conducting a Work Day November 25th from 11:00-Noon at the Rogers Butterfly Park.  So if you are interested in adopting a bed or attending the Work Day contact Phyllis by email at: pkstair59@gmail.com or cell at: 479-340-7939.

Help Wanted

Web Page Content Outreach

Looking for an opportunity to help with volunteer outreach while staying home?

How about helping maintain the NWAMN web page "Volunteering While Social Distancing"?  We need someone to help Jim Klinger, our Volunteer Coordinator, keep that page current by adding new volunteer opportunities as they emerge and deleting expired events.  Jim would prepare all the content and hand it off to you for posting.  This is one of those behind-the-scenes jobs that truly feeds the volunteer spirit that motivates us all as Master Naturalists.  No experience with website tinkering?  No problem - Cheryl Larson, our industrious Webmaster, will train you - it's very straight-forward.

If interested, please contact Cheryl directly at craigcheryl@gmail.com or 620-719-0095.

If you are interested please contact Jim at jsklinger@yahoo.com or feel free to call at 928.300.5531.
